Here are a few business books that Tim Ferris recommends that everyone should read —

The E-myth Revisited

by Michael E. Gerber

If you’re stuck in your own business, this book can help you get unstuck.” — Tim Ferriss

Gerber busts the myth that most businesses are started by entrepreneurs risking capital to make a profit.

Instead, they’re usually started by technicians, people who are good at something and decide to go solo — think bakers opening bakeries or coders launching tech startups.

Just because you’re a rockstar at baking cakes or coding apps doesn’t mean you’ve got the chops to run a business. There’s a world of difference between doing the thing and running a business that does the thing. And that’s where most new businesses stumble.

Gerber talks about the need for systematization. Instead of being the person who’s doing all the work (the technician), you want to set up systems so that the business can operate without you.

It’s all about working ON your business, not just IN it.

My favorite parts from the book —
